A Word of gratitude

You can’t work out a project on your own, you can only realize it with the help of a lot of persons. We want to thank everyone who has supported us during this project.

First of all, we want to thank Annet Daems, teacher at the Katholieke Hogeschool Mechelen. Without her we would have never made it to Italy. Thanks to Annet’s good relations, we managed to bring this project to a fulfilling conclusion. Without her help and assistance we wouldn’t be where we are now.

Without the members of the Amici della Chianina, we would have gone lost. They all made sure we felt right at home here and that we had good contacts with the locals. We want to thank Giovanni Corti, president of the Amici, because he was always prepared to help and correct us.

Massimo Betti and his wife Fabiola to take care of us and make us feel at home. Franco Franchi for his dedication and interest in our project. We want to thank Franco for the time he spend for us and our project, for the many suggestions and tours.

We also want to thank all the teachers of the K. H. Mechelen who supported us. Ludwig Desmet for his creative contribution, Peter Van Edom for the support with the making of the website, Lut Goovaerts for her graphic support, Tom Rumes for the audiovisual know-how and the visual editing, Wilfried Vanden Bossche for his efficient final editing and Werner Goossens for the final editing of the English articles.

Besides, we want to thank our trainee supervisors, Marianne Janssens and Bruno Neuville, and the service internationalisation under the leadership of Lieven van Hoe and Leen van Tolhuysen, for their help and observation. Without the support of the Leonardo Da Vinci fund, it would have been a big financial challenge to manage it here.

We want to thank all the people of this fund for their trust in our project. We hope that we have lived up to their expectations.

For the rest we want to thank the people of the municipality of Sinalunga, the University of Firenze, with special regards to professoresa Clara Sargentini, the province of Siena and the Associazione Senese Allevatori.

Finally we want to thank everyone who supported us, everyone who made time to give interviews, the many friends we made here and our families.
